A team to trust for the pets and animals that trust you.
Jerry’s Plains Veterinary Clinic was established in 1990 by Jim Rodger. The practice has now become widely known throughout Australia and overseas as a specialist equine reproduction clinic. It continues to service thoroughbred studs in the area and the increasing non thoroughbred industry, particularly in the sphere of artificial breeding. The practice now offers excellent facilities, both for equine and small animal patients
The practice runs a well appointed laboratory for haematology, biochemistry, bacteriology, and andrology ,designed not only to support the role of the Centre for Equine Reproduction Medicine, but also to maintain the services of the general practice.
A long term interest in equine athletes is expressed in the commitment to all horse sports including the racing industry as well polo crosse, endurance, cutting, show-jumping, dressage and eventing. Our vets and staff have a history of involvement in equestrian sport and we are willing to assist at pony club and competition events in the area.
The needs of the local community are met by a general medicine practice , and close working relationships with specialists ensure that referral is readily available where necessary.
Unfortunately due to the shortage of rural veterinarians we can only offer a limited after hours service for pets and have to refer surgical cases and many emergencies to nearby larger hospitals at Muswellbrook or Singleton . Equine intensive care emergencies and surgeries are managed where necessary by the new Scone Equine Hospital
